Captain America: The First Avenger story
Captain America: The First Avenger is a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America.
The film follows Steve Rogers, a scrawny young man from Brooklyn who is transformed into the super-soldier Captain America after volunteering for a top-secret research project during World War II. The project, called the Super Soldier Program, was headed by the brilliant scientist Dr. Abraham Erskine.
Erskine chose Rogers to be the recipient of the Super Soldier Serum because of his bravery and selflessness. The serum not only transformed Rogers' physique, making him taller and more muscular, but it also enhanced his strength, speed, and agility.
Despite his new abilities, Rogers was initially used as a propaganda tool, appearing in costume to sell war bonds and boost morale. However, he soon gets the chance to put his skills to use in real combat when he is sent on a mission to rescue his best friend Bucky, who had been captured by the villainous organization HYDRA.
HYDRA, led by the evil Johann Schmidt, is using advanced weaponry to try to conquer the world. Schmidt is also in possession of the Tesseract, a powerful cosmic cube with the ability to provide nearly unlimited energy. With this powerful weapon, Schmidt plans to create an unstoppable army to help him conquer the world.
Captain America and his team, including Peggy Carter and Howard Stark, work to stop Schmidt and the HYDRA threat. In the climactic battle, Rogers confronts Schmidt, who has injected himself with a serum that has further enhanced his own abilities. Rogers defeats Schmidt, but it comes at a great cost, as he finds himself stranded in the Arctic with the Tesseract.
The film ends with Rogers waking up in a modern-day hospital room, having been frozen and preserved for 70 years. He is met by Nick Fury, who invites him to join the Avengers Initiative, a team of extraordinary individuals tasked with protecting the planet from threats both foreign and domestic.
